Ginny Weasley

I am going to be Ginny Weasley tomorrow for halloween. I have my Gryffindor robe, I almost finished the scarf last night (it is about 97% done - I just have a few strings to sew in), now I just need to figure out what to do about the red hair issue.

Clearly I do not have red hair... and to make it authentic I need red hair..... My options are to get a wig or actually color my hair. I have been on a no hair coloring kick for many years now and I don't really want to go back to having to get it colored all the time. I was hoping they still make the kind that you can wash out in a few washes. I went to target to check out their stock and they don't seem to carry it. I feel like I haven't seen that kind in years???? That would be what I would prefer. I wouldn't have to wear a wig all night and I wouldn't have to commit to the vicious cycle of coloring my hair....

Has anyone seen the stuff that washes out anywhere recently????

name change?

I am thinking I should change the name of my blog....

Because honestly I DO hope people are reading it now :) Otherwise what would be the point of blogging.

Also, the comments are my life force. I live for comments on my blog and on the pictures I post on myspace and facebook. I know people are looking at them because I look at everyone's pictures too. I just wish people will leave a little bread crumb trail behind.

So, now I am thinking about new names - we'll see what I can come up with....

???"Sleeping and Cats"??? - boring.... I'll have to keep thinking....

Bad McFlurry Luck

A couple of weeks ago I asked David to bring me home a small M&M McFlurry. It was late and I was already reading in bed by the time he got home. He handed it to me and it was an Oreo McFlurry. I said "This is not an M&M McFlurry" David looked at it and said "You're right." He offered to go back - but I thought it was silly to go back. I really didn't want an oreo one so I asked him to put it in the freezer and maybe I would eat it another day.

Tonight we were driving back from Fred Meyer and we drove through to get a McFlurry :) I double checked that it indeed had M&Ms before we left the window. I ate a few delicious bites on the way home and quickly forgot about it when I set it on the counter :( I just remembered it was there and went running into the kitchen! I think I may have even said "Oh No! My McFlurry!" outloud. tee hee

So, it was not longer a McFlurry, but rather discolored milk with M&Ms at the bottom. Sort of what I imagine a bubble tea being like. It was still delicious ;)

DSH black :)

backyard cats

Apparently I only blog about Ainsley sleeping or cats - in this case I mention both ;)

While Ainsley has been taking her naps the last week or so I have noticed a lot of neighborhood cats in my back yard. Several of them have come right up to the slider as if I should let them inside!

So far there have been the following:
DLH grey
DLH black
DLH orange
DSH silver tabby

I can't remember if there were any others right now - I will update the blogging world as more come by to visit....

baby crack

I was having trouble getting Ainsley down tonight and my friend lovingly told me I am like baby crack. What he went on the explain was Ainsley can't go to sleep when I am there :)

It is getting a little ridiculous.... She will go to sleep for David - but not me. I am getting better at the naptimes because Itry to run her around until she is so exhausted she can't keep her eyes open. For some reason I can't make the same thing happen at night :(

So for now I am baby crack until I figure out a trick to get her to sleep.

boring evening....

No one can hang out tonight....

My best friend and husband are at the Husky game together.
My surrogate husband has a dinner date with his fun friend Annie.
My brother is going to watch the World Series (Jamie Moyer is pitching).
My mom is at the Husky game.
My sister has her own family.

Everyone is busy and my kid goes to bed by 8 so I am stuck here.

At least I will have time to read my book once Ainsley goes to sleep.

kids are so weird somtimes

Actually kids are weird most of the time :)

Specifically today my child is sleeping on her book. Not WITH her book, but ON her book. She refused to even put her head down until I gave her the book and then she proceeded to try every possible position with the book until she decided to use it as a pillow.

She actually started this weird obsession last night, but David ended up getting her to sleep without the book. I am going to have to give her the peek-a-boo kitty book to sleep with since it is soft :)

My brother Ben told me that I am "one of those weird parents" for taking sleeping pictures. But who could resist!!!

indoor? outdoor?

While I have been sitting here on my couch my three legged cat Indy was eyeing a squirrel outside. So, being a nice kitty mom I decided to let him go out and explore. He and Talouse walked around in the back yard a little bit. I left David in charge of them while I went and started some of Ainsley's laundry and when I got back they were both inside. I assumed Indy was the first one back in - but David said that even though Indy was the one who started meowing Talouse was the one who came in first :)

They are pretty funny. I would actually love it if they could be indoor/outdoor cats - but I have seen so many cats roaming around in my own back yard that it makes me nervous. Being indoor cats their whole lives they are pretty naive in the ways of other cats. I think they would probably get their asses handed to them if they ever got in a fight.

The other concern is if we do put in a cat door I am 97% sure this big grey cat I have seen will just waltz right in. He comes right up to the slider and looks in here like he belongs.... Something to think about.... If I got the one that is activated by those collars they would surely lose them and essentially be locked out....

What they need is a nice private outdoor area with things for them to look at and chase :)

slacking

Okay - it has been brought to my attention that I shouldn't have started a blog if I wasn't going to blog. That was actually my concern when I started this. That I would be a bad blogger...

Turns out I am - or at least I have been. I am going to try to be a good blogger. I don't know if I will succeed, but I will never know unless I give it a shot.
